The New York Times talks music and childhood benefits

We love this article from the September 2012 edition in the New York Times, especially in light of recent music education cuts in the Toronto District School Board!

Music education, no matter how long or short, has a long standing impact on your listening and processing skills, says a group of researchers at Northwestern University.

Despite its many cognitive benefits, the article concludes with a quote we completely agree with here:

“Music is great, music is fantastic, music is social — let them enjoy it for what it really is.”
